This is something I have been meaning to highlight a while ago: the Guradian is undertaking to publicise a 3 year aid project in Uganda, where I have just been. The idea is to follow the project right through to completion and explore the in depth issues that arise.

At first I had reservations about the idea – is it good for a rural village to be scrutinised and analysed in the media? Also it seems a bit like playing God in selecting one village for attention and the consequent funding and development it will bring while others remain out the spotlight. Anyway, I have come round to thinking that the educational benefits outweigh other issues and this form of help is better than none.

See for yourself on the Katine website.
